Got oxygen? Tulamben does! And you should always ask about SAFE diving protocols at whichever operator you choose to dive with!
Enquiring into the safety measures available at a dive operations will indeed give you more reason to trust their ability in managing accidents and emergencies. It is absolutely a divers’ right to be familiar with the safety equipment offered, and one that is probably most important is the emergency oxygen system. These are the same set up as what medical paramedics would offer, but many people would find it intimidating without prior knowledge. Lacking in an education of basic emergency oxygen administration doesn’t exclude you from having the rights to such knowledge – so do yourself a favour and do just that – learn about emergency oxygen!
Use of administering emergency oxygen is taught on the Emergency First Response (EFR) course, which goes very well with the PADI Rescue Diver course! There’s no requirement, apart from enthusiasm, to certify in the EFR course – it’s not just for divers! It’s for those who care about safety, as we do at Bali Dream Divers in Tulamben. Contact the ‘Dream Team’ to arrange a suitable ‘Stay & Dive’ package to incorporate dive training with the use of emergency oxygen, or simply the 1-day EFR course.
